All bands admitted will be published on www.reggaecontest.eu divided according their country of residence in 6 areas: IBERIAN PENINSULA Spain, Portugal ITALIAN SPEAKING AREA Italy, Switzerland GERMAN SPEAKING AREA Germany, Austria, Switzerland FRENCH SPEAKING AREA France Switzerland NORTHERN EUROPE UK, Irland, Island, Benelux, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland EASTERN EUROPE all country not included in the other areas 1st ROUND: ONLINE SELECTIONSOnline selections will take place from Public Voting As with every edition of the Rototom Reggae Contest, online voting will be available and more than welcome. Only one vote per country/region will be allowed. **Remember: you can vote only once; the control system doesn't allow multiple votes from the same person, email, computer, or IP address. Votes that are not submitted according to these guidelines will not be confirmed. Several violations of this rule will penalise the band, possibly resulting in disqualification
Technical Jury A technical jury will be appointed to judge the bands. Jury members will award each band with “quality marks” (from 0 to 10 – 10 is the maximum score). The full list of the jury members will be announced before end of January 2012.
Final Classification: The ranking of each selection will be published online by The artists can campaign to promote their songs with promotional messages through positive and peaceful. 2nd ROUND: 6 SEMI-FINALS18 bands will qualify for the semifinals, that means the top 3 bands of the online charts. The 6 semi-finals will be live on stage and will take place during the period The order in which each band will be presented on stage will be defined by drawing lots, which may be present all the band members involved. Every band will perform 40 min on stage, change-over included. The task of selecting the winner of each regional final is entrusted exclusively to the jury. During the finals, technical juries will be asked to judge: originality, quality of performance, professionalism on stage (including time keeping and change-over), response of the audience and potential of the band in a European context. The winners of the semi-finals will be admitted to the European finals. The winners of the semi-finals will be awarded with promotional dates in festivals and clubs and/or promotional and media support. Moreover they will receive 250 euro as a contribution to travel expenses to reach the European Finals.
3rd ROUND: EUROPEAN LIVE FINALS6 bands, the winners of each semi-finals, will qualify for the European Finals, that will take place in April or May 2012. Date and location to be confirmed. Each band will receive catering and accomodation (or a buy-out of 20 euros for each musician). The order in which each band will be presented on stage will be defined by drawing lots, which may be present all the band members involved. Every band will perform 45 min on stage, change-over included. The task of selecting the winner of each regional final is entrusted exclusively to the jury The jury will be composed of one representative from each jury at the semi-finals. The names of the jurors will be published on the day before the event. During the finals the technical juries will be asked to judge: originality of the project, quality of performance, stage skills and professionalism (including time keeping and change-over), response of the audience and potentials of the band in a European context. All the jury polls will be collected and examined at the end of the finals. The results of the voting will be announced the same evening the European winner will be announced 40 minutes after the end of the performances and before the beginning of the dancehall show.
